Drain Technician

Job Responsibilities

Salary: $23,000 to $30,000

• Inspect, clean, and clear drain blockages in residential and commercial buildings.
• Use a rotary cable machine, high-pressure jetting, and/or inspection camera.
• Perform basic drain cleaning functions using small to large-sized drain cleaning machines on a variety of plumbing fixtures including toilets, sinks, tubs, showers, and floor drains.
• Maintain logs, fuel vehicles, and stock the work vehicle with supplies.
• Keep equipment maintained.
• Be punctual and complete service calls in a timely manner.
• Follow instructions from supervisors.
• Learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
• Perform site clean‑up.
• Travel to and from job sites.
• Load and unload materials on the truck.
• Perform all phases of general and underground construction including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various construction materials and equipment.
• Restore and repair all disturbed property.
• Always maintain safe working habits and conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 2+ years as an experienced Drain Technician or Plumber.
• A positive can‑do attitude and openness to trying new ways.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in the telecommunications or underground utilities industry is a plus.
• Working knowledge of basic hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to travel to wherever the job is needed.
• A valid driver’s license and must be insurable.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment background and drug screen.

• Must be able and willing to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours, work outdoors, and in inclement weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing 40 to 90 pounds.
• Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewmen and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl while performing work.
• Wear safety boots, safety glasses, hard hats, and any applicable safety gear.
