Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Drill Operator/Locator team. We're open to hiring a whole crew or individual team members. The opening will primarily serve our Columbus, OH and surrounding area fiber to the home projects, but the team may travel to other project locations as needed. The ideal candidates are safety-conscious with previous drill operation/locating experience and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Drilling and placing underground conduit and structures
• Troubleshoot outages and determine the causes
• Occasional concrete/asphalt restoration
• Respond promptly to call-outs or notifications for service
• Report on all work completed, including any concerns, complications that arise, and reasons for delays

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured under the company’s driver’s insurance, required
• Valid CDL, preferred
• Previous experience as a drill operator/locator
• Relevant training and/or certification is preferred but not required
• Familiarity with equipment such as Ditch Witch drills, vacuum excavators, and mini excavators
• Understanding of all federal safety regulations
• Ability to read and understand prints
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time-management skills
