High Voltage Electrician

$85.00/hr (300–500 hours annually)

Generally weekend work, with some weekday evenings required.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated High Voltage Electrician to perform installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance on building electrical systems. The ideal candidate will ensure reliable operation of electrical power systems and combustion equipment, providing hands‑on expertise in testing, repair, and preventative maintenance while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

• Perform hands‑on installation, repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of building electrical equipment, including low, medium, and high voltage circuits.
• Provide electrical support for combustion equipment, such as diesel and natural gas generators and automatic transfer switches.
• Manage electrical components including transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and cables.
• Conduct electrical tests (power factor, insulation resistance, functional operation) to verify system integrity and compliance.
• Use test equipment—voltmeters, oscilloscopes, ohmmeters—to perform precise tests and calibrations.
• Interpret technical documents, such as floor plans, equipment schedules, and single‑line diagrams, to ensure accurate task execution.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Report safety or procedural violations to a supervisor.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with test equipment: power factor meter, ductrometer, megger, CT ratio & saturation meter, infrared camera.
• Knowledge of equipment: circuit breakers, low/medium/high voltage (LM/MV/HV) systems, transformers, switch gear, motors, PTs & CCVTs.

• Must be able to lift in excess of 75 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
