Lead Technician – Security Business UnitThe Lead Technician will manage a field team responsible for installing, configuring, and testing security systems in new data center construction projects. The role requires coordination with construction, electrical, and network teams to ensure timely, high‑quality deployment of CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and alarm systems.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise a team of security technicians during installation, configuration, and commissioning of security systems.
- Oversee the installation and integration of security infrastructure, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with construction, electrical, and network teams to coordinate installation schedules and resolve integration issues.
- Implement quality control processes, testing and validating systems before handover to operations.
- Provide hands‑on troubleshooting and problem‑solving support during installation and commissioning, escalating as needed.
- Train junior technicians on system installation, best practices, and safety protocols, offering guidance on troubleshooting and configuration.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, test results, and generate progress reports for stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, local and national codes, and company policies, particularly for data center applications.
- Coordinate with third‑party vendors and contractors to schedule deliveries and align with project timelines.
- Provide post‑installation support, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the warranty period.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification (e.g., NICET, CompTIA Security+) or related degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience installing, configuring, and commissioning security systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role managing field technicians.
- Experience with security system installation in new construction or large‑scale projects, ideally in data centers or critical infrastructure.
- In‑depth knowledge of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related technologies.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and system design documentation.
- Familiarity with low‑voltage electrical systems and IT networking related to security installation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and team‑management abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication for reporting and collaboration.
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated positions.
- Work performed in construction and data center environments, with exposure to noise, high‑voltage equipment, and safety hazards.
- Frequent travel to project sites during new data center builds.
Starting at $40/hr, commensurate with experience.
