Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Columbus, Ohio.

• Hourly Pay: $27.50 per hour
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter
• Sign On Bonus: $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days
• Schedule:
  
  Tuesday–Saturday
• Hours:
  
  Second Shift Tuesday–Friday, 2:00 pm–10:30 pm;
  Saturdays 7:00 am–3:30 pm

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational/technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines: routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) and component inspections and repairs
• Combination of classroom training and work experience of at least 2 years
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
• Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
• Pass Ryder drug test
• Pass DOT physical
• Pass Ryder road test
• Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for last 3 years

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, standard maintenance, component inspections and repairs, preventive maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable
• Identify root cause of failures and perform required repairs
• Replace defective components as instructed
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
• Use shop management system and electronic documentation
• Work in accordance with federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
• Perform other support duties as required, e.g., service island support
