Position: C-26 Metro-liner Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic AM-1 (FAA A&P) – Columbus, OH.

The C-26 Metroliner Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic AM-1 (FAA A&P). Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-26 Metroliner aircraft.

Level of Mechanic is based on years of specific C-26 hands-on A&P mechanic experience.

  • An (FAA) A&P Certificate is Required.
  • US Citizenship is Required to obtain the US Govt Secret Security Clearance and base access for this work site.
  • Hands on C-26 Metroliner experience is strongly preferred, (details are below in Minimum Requirements).
  • Is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness.
  • These tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components.
  • Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
  • Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751.
  • Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.
  • Know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software.
  • Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary.
  • Perform engine run or taxi operations. Meet requirement to obtain certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Reads and interprets manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent is Required.
  • A valid FAA) A&P Certificate is Required.
  • Union CBA Site, provides 3 levels of A&P experience, based on specific years of experience on the MDS aircraft assigned, C-26 Metroliner.
  • AM-1 Requires
    - Two (2) Years A&P experience is required, with two (2) or more years of specific C-26 being preferred.
  • AM-2 Requires
    - Five (5) years of C-26 hands-on A&P aircraft mechanic experience is required.
  • AM-3 Requires - Ten (10) years of A&P mechanic experience, and Thirteen (13) years of C-26 specific aircraft experience required.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Mechanic Tools are Required
    ;
    Mechanics must provide their own Tools and Toolbox. Toolbox must be shadowed, each tool to be etched with mechanic PID.
  • Must be willing and able to work and/or rotate for a multiple shift operation.
Security Clearance Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
    US Citizenship is Required to obtain a Secret Clearance, and for facility credentials and authorization to work at this facility.
FAA A&P AR95-20 Medical Requirements
  • Medical/Physical. All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self-propelled support equipment within Ten (10) feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and subsequently on a specified periodic basis, not to exceed Five (5) years.
Physical and Additional Qualifications
  • Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
  • Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comply with the FAA regulations as applicable.
  • Know, understand and comply with the requirements outlined in the contract performance work statement (PWS).
  • May be required to work and/or rotate for a multiple shift operation.
  • Possesses a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license and shows compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.
Compensation & Benefits

HIRING HOURLY Rate of Pay: $41.52 - 49.54 (Hourly rate set by [CBA / SCA])
