At EWI the Maintenance Technician works with the Lead Maintenance Technician and Maintenance Manager to support the repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of lab/facilities equipment and machinery. The role requires quickness, precision, and a high level of customer support to deliver results and satisfy clients. The technician also contributes to the development and execution of the facility’s preventative maintenance program and may work on industrial welding equipment, robotics, and CNC workstations.

• Support maintenance technologist by completing preventive maintenance of lab equipment
• Assist with installation and removal of facilities and lab equipment
• Assist with development of facilities preventive maintenance schedules
• Assist with special projects (lab moves, power runs, plumbing, duct work, etc.)
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment
• Apply expertise in troubleshooting and execution of repairs on electro‑mechanical equipment
• Maintain accurate records of project work, repair logs, and specifications/blueprints
• Strive for highest quality standards in work
• Meet or exceed project schedules and customer expectations
• Maintain clean and organized work area
• Work safely and follow company safety programs and procedures
• Provide shipping and receiving support as needed

• Expertise in use and repair of electrical/mechanical systems
• Expertise with HVAC, cooling towers, chillers, boilers, plumbing, etc.
• Skill in troubleshooting industrial welding and forming equipment, CNC workstations, and robotics
• Knowledge of electrical controls, ladder logic, custom M‑codes, and modern machine tools
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to handle changing priorities and situations

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work well under stress

• Laboratory/light production floor environment with ventilation, climate‑control, moderate lighting, and noise
• Finger dexterity to type, adjust, move, handle, perform, operate, install, attach, remove, apply, grasp, manipulate, and measure
• Movement: transport, rotate, reach, pull, twist, adjust, push, stoop, bend, and crouch
• Lift 10–40 pounds frequently and 40–80 pounds occasionally

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Associate’s degree in a related technical field a plus

• Four (4) or more years in an industrial or manufacturing facility performing maintenance support
• Experience maintaining a preventive maintenance program for electro‑mechanical equipment
• Formal industrial training
