SeniorFire Alarm & Low-Voltage Networking Technician Project Coordinator Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fire Alarm & Low-Voltage Networking Technician to support commercial properties. The ideal candidate has extensive experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting fire alarm systems, low-voltage infrastructure, and building network connectivity. This role requires strong technical expertise, advanced diagnostic skills, and the ability to ensure critical life-safety and communication systems operate reliably and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm systems, including networked fire alarm panels, notification devices, initiating devices, communication pathways, and related equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve complex fire alarm networking, connectivity, and system communication issues.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems, including structured cabling, access control, surveillance systems, communication systems, and network infrastructure.
- Configure and support network-connected life safety and building technology systems.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, property teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support system upgrades.
- Perform system testing, inspections, and preventive maintenance in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer requirements.
- Document service activities, findings, repairs, system configurations, test results, and recommendations accurately and consistently.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with fire alarm, electrical, life-safety, and building code requirements.
- Support emergency service calls and critical system outages as needed.
- Extensive experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting commercial fire alarm systems.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm networking, panel communications, IP-based connectivity, and system integration.
- Experience with low-voltage systems including structured cabling, access control, CCTV, intercom, and related building technologies.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switches, routers, and network troubleshooting.
- Strong electrical and low-voltage troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of applicable NFPA, life-safety, electrical, and building code requirements.
- NICET Fire Alarm Certification and/or manufacturer certifications highly preferred.
- Relevant certifications in fire alarm systems, networking, low-voltage systems, or access control technologies are highly valued.
- Strong communication, documentation, prioritization, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
