The Team

Partner Experience sits within Capital Platform and scales relationships with lenders and investors through customer experience solutions. This team helps partners access the insights, tools, and controls they need to deploy capital confidently and grow with Upstart. Our platform priorities center on speed, trust, and control for partners, delivered through reliable data, intuitive workflows, and secure access across products.

The Role

We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build partner‑facing systems that improve transparency, reliability, and self‑service across our capital ecosystem. • Ship clear, well‑tested code; participate in code reviews; and improve reliability through logging, metrics, and alerting.
  • Work across the stack (backend, data access, and front‑end integration) to deliver end‑to‑end capabilities with strong security and availability.
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into simple, reliable workflows and self‑service tools that reduce manual processes.
  • Own deployment and operational readiness in cloud environments, including CI/CD, observability, and incident mitigation.
  • Contribute to technical design docs and help evolve our platform architecture for partner experiences over time.
Minimum requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on full-stack development, distributed systems, and APIs
  • Experience with some or many of the following:
    Ruby on Rails, Kotlin, Postgre

    SQL, React, Next.js, Vercel, Python
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and deploying applications in a cloud native environment
  • Experience with microservices architecture and real‑time data processing pipelines (Kafka, Spark, or similar)
  • Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL and data warehousing solutions
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in capital markets, financial services, or a related industry, with a strong understanding of market structures and regulations
  • Prior experience or demonstrated enthusiasm for working on internal tools
  • History of thriving in a variety of work environments: both collaborative and self‑directed; remote and in‑person
Nice to haves:
