Java Consultant – Angular/Java – Onsite, OH

Java Consultant with Angular exp – Onsite, OH – Work onsite at the Ohio Industrial Commission (OIC) location (William Green Building, 8th floor, 30 West Spring Street, Columbus, Ohio).

• Expert proficiency in Angular (Type Script, components, services, routing, state management like RxJS).
• Experience developing Java solutions in a Windows environment.
• Strong knowledge of JPA, SQL, RESTful web services, and JUnit.
• Designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs to integrate the Angular front‑end with the Java back‑end.
• Familiarity with database technologies (SQL) and ORM tools such as Hibernate/JPA.
• Proficiency with version control systems (Git).
• Writing unit tests, running integration tests, and participating in peer code reviews for both Angular and Java code.
• Adhering to timelines, development goals, and coding standards.
• Documenting application components, providing technical training, and maintaining application security and integrity.

• Write new Angular components (HTML, CSS, Type Script).
• Implement services to fetch and manage data from back‑end APIs.
• Implement routing and navigation for new feature views.
• Update technical documentation for new features or complex parts of the application.
• Stay up to date with the latest Angular updates, Type Script features, and front‑end trends.
• Make any necessary coding/process flow changes.
• Work with OIC IT team members to review code and plan implementations.
• Attend meetings, gather progress updates, and identify risks or blockers.
• Track and report project statuses to maintain a realistic and transparent delivery roadmap.
• Prepare concise executive summaries for the CIO and detailed weekly status updates for IT management.
• Review required work products to ensure compliance with approved procedures and standards.
• Perform or manage required software quality phase end reviews of work product and process for each software project.
