Job Title: Specialist, Software Engineer – PRT BSA (CIR Department)

Overview

We’re looking for a forward-thinking, hands-on Specialist Software Engineer to join our high-profile and fast-growing CIR department, supporting the even faster-growing PRT BSA initiative. This is a unique opportunity to lead development efforts on a high‑impact line, working with cutting‑edge technologies and shaping the future of our platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead developer on the PRT BSA line, driving design, development, and deployment of scalable solutions.
  • Develop and maintain robust data integration and transformation pipelines using Talend and Java.
  • Build automation and orchestration workflows leveraging Python, Harness, and Rancher.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate with Snowflake, AWS, and Springboot-based services.
  • Champion best practices in software engineering, CI/CD, and cloud‑native development.
  • Bring a future‑forward mindset, with a passion for innovation and emerging technologies—especially in the AI space.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven experience in Talend and Java development (primary focus).
  • Strong proficiency in Python scripting and automation.
  • Hands‑on experience with Harness and Rancher for deployment and container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, AWS services, and Springboot microservices.
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical projects or mentoring developers.
  • Interest or experience in AI technologies is a strong plus.

Job Description Summary

As a Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and or supporting existing packaged or custom‑built applications. In this capacity, you’ll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document and maintain applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards in an agile environment.
  • Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Uses Dev Sec Ops  practices, tooling and techniques.
  • Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
  • Manages medium to large project priorities, deadlines and deliverables proactively.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences

Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non‑traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.

Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and

Skills:

Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
