Position: Mainframe DB2 Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe DB2 Developer for a Contract with a client in Columbus, OH. You will design and develop mainframe applications while ensuring efficient DB2 database management and JCL.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $53/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mainframe DB2 Developer job responsibilities include:
  • Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using DB2, COBOL, and JCL.
  • Perform DB2 application development and optimization for high-performance systems.
  • Write and maintain JCL scripts for batch processing and job scheduling.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices for mainframe environments.
  • Provide production support and troubleshoot issues related to DB2, COBOL programs, and JCL jobs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in mainframe application development and maintenance.
  • Strong hands‑on expertise in Mainframe DB2 application development, Enterprise COBOL, and JCL.
  • Proven ability to design, develop, and optimize mainframe solutions while adhering to best practices and performance standards.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $53.00 per hour
