Salary: $120,000 – $155,000 per year

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about building creative, scalable, and reliable software solutions to solve complex business challenges. You’ll join a collaborative and growing software team focused on Symmetric

DS, a platform that enables fast, secure, and dependable data replication for organizations worldwide.

DS has empowered global enterprises to integrate data from diverse systems, delivering meaningful insights and operational efficiency across industries.

• Collaborate as part of an agile engineering team to design, develop, and enhance core software products.
• Translate software requirements into high-quality technical implementations.
• Participate in 24×7 on-call support rotation (approximately once per month).
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on customer-reported issues.
• Document defects and coordinate timely resolutions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, reliability, and quality of deliverables.
• Present technical topics and demonstrate functionality to internal and external stakeholders.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to architectural decision-making.
• Lead small teams in achieving development goals and mentor junior engineers.
• Engage with and support the open-source community related to the platform.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 5 years of software development experience, with full lifecycle exposure.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Framework.
• Strong understanding of data storage principles and SQL database operations.
• Experience with unit testing, CI/CD, Agile, and Dev Ops methodologies.
• Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Experience engaging directly with customers or end-users.

• Troubleshooting distributed enterprise applications.
• Automating build processes using Gradle/Maven and Git Hub Actions.
• Building RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure technologies such as Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform.
• Experience deploying software to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Monitoring using Prometheus and Grafana.
• UI/UX development experience with the Vaadin framework.
