Sr. Java​/GCP Developer

Sr Java Developer with Spring boot framework experience, Cloud skills and AI skills Position. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, GCP, Kafka, Cloud Architecture, Bigtable, REST APIs, and Dev Ops to design, develop, and support scalable cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building microservices, event-driven solutions, and distributed systems in a cloud environment.

Knowledge of Digital Assets and Tokenization platforms is a plus. Deliver well-designed, quality software in either an agile or waterfall environment Work on a team to ensure successful delivery of solutions that add value to Huntington's colleagues and customers as-well-as achieve business objectives. • Develop, and maintain cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, GCP, and Kafka.
• Build and support scalable REST APIs.
• Develop event-driven solutions leveraging Kafka and cloud-native messaging patterns.
• Design data models and optimize performance using Bigtable and related cloud databases.
• Understand and work with CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops best practices.
• Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, security, and product teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical mentoring activities.
• Maintains and demonstrates knowledge of technical industry trends, particularly as they apply to Huntington.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business or other related field/experience 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Java application development.

• Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17/21 and Spring Boot Framework.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java and Spring Boot Framework for building scalable microservices, REST API’s and distributed applications.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design, development, security, and integration.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and cloud-native application development.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Kafka for event‑driven and asynchronous processing.

• Solid understanding of Cloud Architecture principles, including scalability, resiliency, high availability, and fault tolerance.

• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and automated quality practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Dev Ops practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated testing, deployment automation, and monitoring.
• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and Agile software development methodologies.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of cloud security, authentication, authorization, and API gateway technologies.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with observability tools, including logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing solutions.
