Requirements:

Formal software engineering training or certification, with at least 5 years of applied experience
Proven ability to lead the end-to-end design and delivery of complex software systems, including architecture, development, testing, and operational readiness
Strong system design expertise, including distributed systems, microservices, and APIs
Track record using AI coding assistants such as Git Hub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude to speed up development, and coaching teams to adopt these tools
Experience designing and deploying production agentic systems, such as LLM-powered agents, multi-step reasoning workflows, or tool-using AI
Ability to establish standards, run experiments, and build team confidence in AI-augmented engineering practices
Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance digital applications with modern cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineers and senior technical contributors, raising standards through coaching and influence
Experience applying industry-standard security practices and technology controls across the software delivery lifecycle
Experience guiding the use of AI-assisted development tools for coding, code review, testing, and troubleshooting, including validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security
Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, and security; ability to coach senior engineers on compliant practices and controls
Preferred:
Experience leading engineering culture transformation, including AI tooling, new workflows, or modern practices across distributed teams

Responsibilities:

Set technical strategy for modern engineering platforms, aligning architecture, delivery plans, and success measures with business outcomes
Lead technology implementations across teams and functions, ensuring they meet enterprise quality, reliability, and security standards
Work with senior leaders and stakeholders to clarify priorities, manage trade-offs, and build agreement across competing objectives
Influence engineering leaders across business, product, and technology to improve delivery and raise engineering standards
Guide complex, cross-product programs by establishing operating rhythms, accountability, and transparent progress reporting
Foster an inclusive team culture centered on collaboration, continuous learning, and shared ownership
Promote and govern AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational results; establish measurable validation standards and encourage reuse of proven approaches
