Position Description

Ryder is hiring a permanent full‑time warehouse forklift operator in Columbus, OH. The role involves operating forklifts and related equipment to support warehouse fulfillment operations.

  • Hourly Pay: $18 per hour
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (flexible to afternoons)

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
  • Valid forklift operator’s license
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work within a diverse work environment
  • Highly thorough and dependable
  • Must be punctual with a good attendance record
  • Works independently with minimal supervision
  • High initiative and accuracy, even under pressure
  • Able to lift or push/pull up to 35 lbs
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Follows health and safety methods
  • Available for a flexible schedule across various shifts
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices
Responsibilities
  • Perform warehouse functions such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
  • Meet performance measurement guidelines of the contract
  • Accurately pick, pack, audit, and stage products, and load/unload trucks
  • Handle day‑to‑day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
  • Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours
  • Assist in other duties as assigned
