Job Overview
AAA is hiring Full Time Roadside Assistance Mobile Battery Technicians to join our Roadside Assistance team in Columbus, OH. Our drivers help members when they need us most—whether it’s changing a flat tire, jump‑starting a car battery, or towing a vehicle. The role requires dependable, empathetic individuals who love helping others and can work outside in all weather conditions.

- Provide tow and recovery services using established guidelines and quality control procedures.
- Perform lock‑out, fuel delivery, battery jump‑start, and tire change services following company procedures.
- Sell, install, test, and perform battery warranty services for members.
- Communicate with members effectively and keep them informed to ensure safety.
- Make sound decisions regarding vehicle safe service to accommodate member needs.
- Enter call information accurately into in‑truck technology, process payments, handle cash, and complete required reports.
- Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections, ensuring all are in safe operating condition and secured at all times.
- Support AAA by participating in special events to promote the brand.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license for the state of residence; maintain all state and local licensing requirements.
- Pass a physical examination as required by the Department of Transportation or company policy.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience in an automotive/mechanical environment or in a sales/customer service role.
- Lift and carry equipment up to 75 pounds; bend, kneel, and balance to change tires and inspect vehicles.
- Pass pre‑ and post‑employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and motor vehicle screening.
- Operate passenger vehicles and light‑medium duty trucks (manual and automatic transmissions) while working from a service vehicle.
- Communicate effectively in writing, verbally, via email, and using assigned technology such as GPS.
- Complete required departmental training courses within 60 days of hire and attend future training as required.
