You MUST have at least a Class C Commercial Drivers License with passenger endorsement in order to drive our vehicles.
Drives assigned vehicle (s) to transport clients, trainees or company personnel.
Drives vehicle (s) from individual locations or central loading areas to medical appointments, shopping, social services or rehabilitation centers, training location job sites, or other destinations according to time schedule assignments/schedule /routes/logs
Required to assist disabled passengers into and out of vehicle (maximum weight allowed on wheelchair lifts is 800 lbs. which includes the client and wheelchair; wheelchairs are pushed, slid side to side without lifting) and assist with personal items (maximum lifting 50 lbs.).
Required to secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip. (Requires bending and/or kneeling). Able to lift overhead items.
Required to operate smart phone or similar device to communicate with office to report as assigned.
Required to comply with local traffic regulations and agency's driver evaluation requirements.
To report disruption of service, delays or accidents, administer first aid or CPR as needed, reports facts concerning accident or emergency needs to hospital personnel, law enforcement officials and the office.
Required to have passengers swipe RIDE cards and deposit correct fares in fare boxes. Handle donation of applicable senior with confidentiality. Provide information on reloading RIDE cards accessing additional information on the service.
Operate android tablet and cell phone to retrieve your daily schedule and company data.
Open and closes doors, starts and stops vehicle to allow passengers to enter or leave vehicle; regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort; and complies with local traffic regulations.
May make repairs and change tires if pre-approved.
Required to perform other duties when not driving, such as cleaning and servicing vehicles with fuel, lubricants, accessories custodial office work, building maintenance tasks and others as assigned.
Required to perform a daily vehicle check, keep records of trips/stops, mileage, fuel and behavior of passengers.
Required to answer questions from passengers if applicable or direct further communication to transportation coordinator or supervisor.
Required to wear assigned uniform and rubber sole enclosed shoes. Wear only assigned caps with no other head covering and excessive jewelry.
Perform other related duties.
