Job Overview
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated person who will provide clerical administrative support in Community Paediatrics. The post will be based at the Colwyn Bay Hospital.
The successful candidate will have a good standard of education, good communication skills, be able to work on their own initiative and be efficient and organised with their own workload. The candidate should also have keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft Office Package.
A good telephone manner and communication skills are essential. The ability to speak Welsh would be beneficial but is not essential. The post holder will be required to demonstrate a professional and sensitive manner and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Main duties of the job- Undertake clerical and some word processing duties as directed by the team.
- Assist with the booking / rearranging of appointments as directed by the team.
- Deal with enquiries either on the telephone or face to face form health professionals, colleagues, and the public, under the guidance of the administrative team.
- File reports / letters or relevant information within individual case notes following relevant protocols and in an accurate and timely manner.
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail and distribute accordingly

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post;

Essential criteria
- Educated in English to GCSE standard or NVQ L2 Administration or Demonstratable Experience
- IT Qualification
- Previous clerical/administrative experience
- Experience of working in the NHS
- Basic keyboard skills
- Able to use electronic information systems
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and prioritise tasks with minimal supervision
- Previous use of oracle or similar system
- Working knowledge of the WPAS (patient administration system)
- Knowledge of confidentiality
- Willing to learn new skills
- Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders
