Position Summary

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This role requires an understanding of technical accounting, budgeting, and financial concepts, as well as proficiency in accounting software such as Quick Books or Xero.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the general "Accounting" email inbox, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
- Handle Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P) tasks, including creating invoices and accurately classifying/coding bills within the accounting system.
- Perform bank and credit card account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Track loan and debt amortization schedules, ensuring correct principal and interest allocations.
- Set up and maintain customer and vendor profiles, both externally and internally.
- Monitor and analyze project profitability, providing insights to support financial decision-making.
- Assist the Senior Accountant with month-end, quarter-end closing, and Sales & Use Tax filing processes.
- Report directly to the Senior Accountant, with oversight from the Controller.
Skills And Abilities
- Strong verbal and electronic communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to Commute:
Commerce City, CO 80022 (Required) - Ability to Relocate:
Commerce City, CO 80022 (Relocate before starting work) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. (Preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience (2-3 years in a similar role).
- Residency in or near Denver, CO.
- Experience with accounting software such as Quick Books or Xero.
- Accounting: 1 year (Required)
- Familiarity with the electrical equipment industry or related sectors. (Preferred)
- Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. (Preferred)
- Experience in Sales/Use Tax a plus. (Preferred)
