Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager we are currently seeking a Drafter for our Day Shift to be based at our Commerce City, CO facility.

- Creates design plans and develops initial layouts both independently and under direction of Project Engineers.
- Assembly of plan sets and coordination with multiple engineering disciplines and associated reference files.
- Performs redline corrections and develop design drawings from initial sketches.
- Convert hand sketches and drawings into electronic format utilizing Solid Edge and AutoCAD software.
- Provide drawing support to the Engineering team.
- Reports project status to engineering management regarding on‑time delivery, productivity and quality of design/documentation.
- Creates final drawings with complete dimensional data for engineering or manufacturing purposes and reviews for accuracy, completeness and conformance to drafting, applicable design and component standards.
- Revise computer‑aided designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made during actual construction.
- Utilize nesting software/program to improve material efficiency, reduce programming time and increase throughput.
- Prepare cut sheets for mechanical layout.
- Verify accuracy and revise bend details in preparation for fabrication department.
- Participates in PPR’s – project and design review meetings relating to project assignments; reports and presents information as required.
- Assemble and maintain a hard copy library of completed proposals/projects.
- Maintain computer databases of proposal and project information to aid in future data retrieval.
- Conduct a quality check of all documents and reports, verifying accuracy of data, information and calculations.
- Aid production in troubleshooting problems with drawings.
- Ensures all customer modifications and changes are included in the updated drafts.
Skills and Abilities
- 3D modeling experience is required (Solid Edge, Solid Works, ProE, AutoCAD 3D, etc.). Solid Edge a plus.
- CAD proficient including ability to interpret electrical and controls schematics and equipment drawings.
- Background and knowledge in the production and manufacturing of electrical distribution equipment related to mining industry.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
- Good PC skills, proficient in Word, Excel, and MS Outlook, AutoCAD specialized software applications.
- Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of employees.
- Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must possess good math skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple concurrent assignments.
- Ability to identify work priorities and function with very little supervision.
- Broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards pertaining to the power/mining industry.
- Must be team player and self‑motivated; work well independently and as a member of a team.

Four‑year technical degree related to design or;
Associate’s degree in a technical field from two‑year college or technical school, plus two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
