Position Title:
Machine Operator Basic Purpose and Objective of the Position
The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining multiple slicing machines to cut rare earth magnet materials to precise customer specifications. This role ensures that all parts meet dimensional, quality, and safety standards while maintaining efficient production rates.
Major Responsibilities1. Safety
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment.
- Read, understand, and follow Work Instructions (WI) and Process Control Standards (PCS).
- Accurately interpret and adhere to manufacturing routers and quality procedures.
- Review and interpret customer drawings to obtain dimensions, features, tolerances, and requirements.
- Verify that part numbers on drawings match the manufacturing router.
- Install and configure proper tooling for each job.
- Select and verify appropriate measuring instruments, such as micrometers, gauges, dial indicators, and optical comparators.
- Conduct first‑piece inspections before full production runs.
- Maintain daily coolant or oil levels and perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Operate a variety of equipment including:
- STC Slicing Machines
- Bridgeport Mill
- Vibratory Tumbler
- Monitor production for adherence to established quality standards and production targets.
- Perform and document in‑process inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and quality compliance.
- Accurately record data in the ERP system and on manufacturing routers per work instructions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing or machining experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer literacy for ERP data entry and documentation.
