Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
  • Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
  • Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products they have ordered.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs are kept.
  • Gain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and suggestions.
  • Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
  • Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions, notifying management.
  • Practice preventive maintenance and notify management of repair needs.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Customer Service skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
