Security Officers perform the following tasks under the direct supervision of their Site Supervisor or Manager; their schedule is subject to change based on site needs. Conduct routine patrols of the site by foot or patrol vehicle. Perform access control functions to the facility and buildings. Protect client property and personnel as per the site standard operating procedures. Monitor CCTV and alarm systems as needed.

Implement emergency protocols and drills as required.

You will conduct the following responsibilities, upholding HSS’s commitment to safety and security while supporting the values and culture of the client and community.

• Control access to the facility ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted on site.
• Maintain surveillance of the site to ensure the perimeter and our buildings remain secure.
• Monitor CCTV, Fire, & Security systems.
• Conduct routine patrols of the property to identify security risks, safety hazards, and maintenance issues.
• Complete daily activity reports, Incident reports, and other mandated reports per job assignment and post orders utilizing Track Tick.
• Provide escort details and perimeter fence checks as requested.
• Perform other duties assigned as per the Standard operating procedures.

Security Officer Requirements:

• Must have a valid High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior experience as a Security Officer, Police officer, or Military experience preferred.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays on your respective shift assignment.
• Must possess a valid State issued Driver’s license.
• Must have the ability to conduct extended foot patrols.
• Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs.
• Ability to effectively communicate with others.
• Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations as per operating procedures.
• Ability to hear & see in low light situations.
• Ability to lift twenty pounds (specific site requirements may vary).
• Capable of working outside in extreme weather conditions.
• Capable of comprehending site‑specific policies and standard operating procedures and implementing them as needed.

Work hours will vary depending on assignments, client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the company. Workweeks may exceed 40 hours and may involve any of the 7 days of the week, depending on the needs of the business. The work environment may be fast‑paced and stressful or may also be quiet and slow‑paced. All environments and pace of work will require alertness and ability to perform under pressure.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk for variable amounts of time throughout an assigned shift; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects 25 pounds or more.
