The Warehouse Operations Clerk ensures that all shipping related documents are completed accurately and in a timely fashion. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor or Manager.
Responsibilities- Communicate via email with outbound carriers daily, providing schedules for outbound shipments and equipment needs.
- Communicate through various media with site personnel to ensure requirements are met.
- Receive all drivers and provide direction for outbound shipments.
- Using the warehouse management system, open/close shipments and prepare accurate bills of lading for outbound freight.
- Ensure drivers depart with appropriate paperwork.
- Maintain accuracy of all shipping documents by strictly adhering to SOP.
- Enter and maintain all data and records related to shipping activities in the warehouse management system.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies.
- Assist in material handling duties such as receiving, put‑away, picking, packing, or loading.
- Monitor trailer capacity and work proactively with spotters on trailer moves.
- Complete other administrative duties as needed by leadership.
- File all outbound paperwork for easy access.
- Maintain seal log accurately.
- Maintain load board with accurate information.
- Communicate work assignments (e.g., appointments, doors, items) to drivers.
- Perform other assigned tasks.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Experience in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
- Experience with a Warehouse Management System (Manhattan preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to handle changing priorities and exercise good judgment in stressful situations.
- Good visual acuity to inspect shipments.
- Good finger dexterity to input data into inventory records.
- Accuracy in record‑keeping and verification of items.
- Strong time management, organizational, planning, and self‑motivation skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Mechanical Handling Equipment experience or willingness to learn.
- Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand/walk 10‑12 hours, lift/move totes up to 100 pounds, bend, lift, stretch.
- Capacity to work in variable noise, lighting, and temperature conditions.
Base hourly pay rate: $23.25. The pay range serves as guidance and may vary based on expertise, performance, and tenure.
