Overview
HR Operations Lead at ALO
. The Lead, HR Operations will serve as a Project Manager for all internal HR processes throughout the employee lifecycle. They will support the Manager, HR Operations with overseeing the HR Operations team, ensuring they provide the highest level of customer service, stay up to date on legal and compliance matters, and maintain data integrity in our HR systems as the top priority.
The goal is to decrease the amount of HR administrative work placed on leaders and automate processes to elevate and streamline the employee experience.
- Oversee the team responsible for the operational aspect of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and job changes for Corporate, Retail, and Warehouse functions of the organization; report to the Manager, HR Operations on challenges, opportunities, etc.
- Serve as the subject matter expert in the full employee lifecycle, regularly hosting office hours and/or trainings for managers and HR team members:
- Onboarding:
Offer letters, new hire paperwork, background checks, Workday, ADP, Form I-9, E-Verify, etc. - Offboarding:
Workday approvals, separation paperwork, final pay inquiries, etc. - System Integrations:
Workday, ADP, MyStaff, Legion, etc. - Lead projects including but not limited to seasonal hiring and conversions, metric reporting, system integrations, mass data changes, wage changes, and compensation reviews.
- Partner with Payroll to support effective systems and ensure data integrity, including regular audits and maintenance of Workday and ADP.
- Handle day-to-day inquiries (e.g., pay, attendance, policy guidance) and direct inquiries to the appropriate person or team when needed.
- Stay up to date on legal and compliance matters across the US and Canada, ensuring 100% compliance.
- Support ongoing NSOs through poster orders, partner with Legal on offer letters, new hire paperwork and handbook addendums, partner with Payroll on ADP setup, and collaborate with Recruiting on hiring needs.
- Assist with creating internal and external HR policies and processes, regularly auditing and updating them as needed.
- Partner with the Manager, HR Operations to identify and address gaps in support.
- Support ad-hoc tasks and projects.

- Ability to support Corporate, Retail, and Warehouse environments and navigate rapid and continuous growth, including seasonal increases during the holiday season.
- Comfortable with high volume and evolving workload.

- Customer service – quick and accurate responses to employee inquiries and needs.
- Self-starter with prioritization and strong work ethic.
- Ability to interface with multiple levels within the organization.
- Operate autonomously – deliver results with little supervision in a dynamic and often ambiguous environment.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Certification in HR a plus
- 3-5 years HR experience, with at least 1 year managing or supervising a team.
- High volume administration experience (including systems/database administration) in HR, Recruitment, or Payroll.
- 1-2 years project management experience.
- Proficiency with SharePoint, Workday, ADP, Microsoft Office Suite a plus.
The base salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000 per year. Actual salaries will vary based on location, experience, and performance. There may be instances where the final base salary is outside the stated range. This range is one component of the company’s total rewards package including potential bonuses, PTO, and other benefits.
