As a Machinist Level 1 or 2 located in Commerce, CA, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. Our Commerce, CA site is in search of Machinist 1 or 2 to join our growing team on 2nd Shift (2:15pm-11:45pm) (9/80 schedule).

• Setting up and operating Horizontal HAAS, DMG Mori lathe and 5-axis DMG Mori milling machines.
• Determining sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup.
• Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Measuring, marking, and scribing dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
• Fitting and assembling precision parts into mechanical equipment and determining material, parts, and equipment required.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
• Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock to display placement of cuts.
• Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled.

• High school diploma or GED and 0 yrs of additional education and/or related experience.
• Familiarity with CNC 5-axis machining.
• Experience with composite, honeycomb, and aluminum materials, forging and all hard metals such as stainless steel and titanium.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, production specifications, production diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical specifications.
• Experience with GD & T.
• Experience in following written set‑up instructions and/or performing unique set‑ups.
• Experience in complex measurements and advanced shop math calculations relative to tolerances, dimensions, tooling, and feeds and speeds.
• Experience running machines and setup.

• High school diploma or GED and 2 yrs of additional education and/or related experience.
• CNC 5-axis machining experience required.

• Associates degree or Trade School certification with minimum 2-5 years of experience.
• Experience with HAAS GM2 5-Axis Controller.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve unforeseen, unique issues as they arise in machining a part.
• Ability to understand verbal and written work instructions with knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and disciplines.
• Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends as needed.
