Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of principles and application of theory into practice for effective instruction and positive behavioral supports for students with disabilities; curriculum and instructional techniques; human behavior, development, and skill performance; learning and motivation; assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders; policies and effective instructional practices.
- Ability to provide positive behavioral support in both group and individual settings.
- Understanding of federal, state, and local mandates governing the determination and delivery of special education services.
- Completion of observations and reports on learning behaviors of students.
- Effective collaboration with administrators, colleagues, central office and school-based staff, students, parents, and community members.
- Excellent human relations skills and working knowledge of the English language in written and verbal form.
Education and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a Special Education Credential.
Must be able to provide a clear Live Scan/Fingerprints, recent TB test (at least 60 days prior), and CPR/1st Aid Certification.
