Position: Trauma Informed Youth Therapist (ACSW, AMFT, APCC)

Overview

Job Title: Trauma-Informed Youth Therapist (ACSW, APCC, AMFT, etc)

Will be in a school setting!

Compensation: $32.00 - $35.00

Schedule: 40 hours/week

Pay: $70k+

Location: Robert F Kennedy Elementary School, 1305 S. Oleander Ave, Compton, CA 90220

Summary: Join the dynamic team at Our leading nonprofit client, dedicated to empowering youth and breaking the cycle of domestic violence through innovative programming. As a Trauma-Informed Youth Therapist, you'll play a vital role in our Margaret's Place program, fostering resilience and healing among students, families, and communities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide counseling and support to youth impacted by violence or abuse.
  • Deliver engaging trauma education and violence prevention sessions.
  • Lead a vibrant peer leadership group, organizing events and outings.
  • Drive impactful anti-violence campaigns, promoting healthy relationships.
  • Conduct workshops for parents, guardians, and school staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in program development.
  • Stay current with best practices and contribute to research efforts.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work, therapy, or related field.
  • Active CA-license in a behavioral health discipline.
  • Experience with youth counseling and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Passion for empowering youth and fostering positive change.
  • Ability to work autonomously and adapt in a school environment.
  • Commitment to cultural sensitivity and anti-racist practices.
Preferred Experience
  • Background in gang prevention or juvenile justice work.
