Manager of Accounting & Payroll

County Connection is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our Finance team as Manager of Accounting & Payroll. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position plays a key role in managing the agency’s day-to-day accounting and payroll operations and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting.

• Manage core accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger activity, reconciliations, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting.
• Oversee payroll processing and related tax, benefit, pension, and regulatory reporting.
• Manage cash flow and banking activities, including transfers, wire payments, payroll funding, and reconciliations.
• Coordinate financial and regulatory reporting, including audit support and required state and federal filings.
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting practices consistent with GAAP.
• Provide financial analysis and support special projects across the organization.
• Supervise and develop Accounting and Payroll staff while fostering a collaborative, professional work environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• At least five years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, including two years of supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and GASB and experience with financial systems, reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Someone who drives continuous improvement and effective communication, streamlines processes, prepares clear reports, and represents the Authority to governmental agencies, community groups, and key stakeholders.

Highly desirable
:
Experience in government or public-sector accounting and CPA or CPFO certification.
