LocationThe US West Region is looking for a motivated Staff Level Civil Engineer – Highways & Roads to join our growing team in California. This position can be located in any of our offices in CA or AZ.
Responsibilities- Perform Engineering Design tasks: to include roadway and transportation projects from preliminary to final design. Design tasks include geometric layouts, alignments, profiles, and typical cross-sections.
- Assist:
Cost Estimates, reports and technical memos - Improvement/Innovation:
Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them. - Engineering Standards Specification:
Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards. - Knowledge Management System:
Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice. - Client & Customer Management (External):
Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems. - Data Collection and Analysis:
Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently. - Engineering Solutions Design:
Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions. - Personal Capability Building:
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. - Technical Developments Recommendation:
Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs. - Project Management:
Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 4 years of experience
- Possession of an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) Certificate, PE or ability to get PE in 12 months preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
Salary Range: $80,000-$133,000 based on experience.
