Responsibilities- Construction Management: oversee water projects (pumping stations, pipelines, treatment facilities), transportation projects (roads, trails, traffic improvements), and coastal, environmental, energy projects; lead during construction and contribute to planning, permitting, design, and procurement.
- Identify business development opportunities; lead procurement efforts including proposal and interview preparation.
- Insights and Reporting: design and implement reporting strategies and templates; lead execution of complex reports and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Construction Advice: provide specialist professional advice on construction regulations and best practices for complex maintenance, alteration, and construction of buildings.
- Construction Project Budgeting: develop, deliver, and manage budget plans for standard construction projects; monitor progress and post-calculations.
- Knowledge Management: develop policies, create best practices, capture and share knowledge among colleagues on project outcomes and innovative practices.
- Personal Capability Building: act as subject matter expert in technology, policy, regulation, or operational management; maintain external accreditations.
- Bid Solicitation/Proposal/Tender Analysis: conduct feasibility studies for bid solicitation and write tender specifications.
- Operational Compliance: monitor and review performance to ensure compliance with the organization's policies and relevant regulatory codes.
- Client & Customer Management (External): manage important client relationships or oversee relationships with transactional clients.
- Education:
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and management experience. - Experience:
Minimum 15 years of experience as Construction Manager and/or Resident Engineer on multiple concurrent construction projects. - Licenses/Certifications:
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; CCM certification a plus. - Experience with web-based document management (as indicated in the original description).
Location:
San Francisco, Oakland, or Concord, CA. Hybrid work model: in-office three days a week.
