Position: Behavior Technician (BT)

Behavior Technician (BT) role at Burnett Therapeutic Services

About the Role

You will work 1:1 with children with autism or developmental delays to build communication, social, play, and daily living skills through structured, play‑based activities. Sessions take place in the child’s home, clinic, or school, lasting 2–3 hours. We tailor your caseload to fit your availability and match you with age groups you’re comfortable with, from toddlers to teens.

Pay and Benefits
  • Base pay: $21.00/hr – $24.00/hr pay increases after you obtain RBT certification.
  • Paid 40‑hour training to prepare for the RBT exam; we cover the exam cost if you pass on your first try.

    Oakley, Richmond, Concord, Martinez, Walnut Creek, Antioch.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver one‑on‑one behavior support through fun, individualized activities.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
  • Collect and record data on client progress accurately.
  • Communicate regularly with families to provide updates and support.
  • Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and supervision sessions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 months of experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, preferably in an ABA or behavioral health setting.
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude and passion for working with children.
  • Spanish‑speaking preferred.
  • Experience with children or individuals with disabilities is a plus.
  • Preferred:
    Current student or recent graduate in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Biology, or related field.
  • RBT certification is a plus; we will cover the cost of obtaining it.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
  • Reliability and willingness to work with a variety of clients.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Valid auto insurance if using your vehicle for work; in place of a driver’s license, submission of a government‑issued  required.
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding).
  • TB test (within 90 days), MMR & Varicella immunization, and pre‑employment physical (within the past year).
  • Background check (FBI & DOJ).
