Pipe Layer / Skilled Laborer (Line Division) – Concord

State Utility Contractors, Inc. is hiring full‑time Pipe Layer and Skilled Laborer positions within the Line Division in Concord.

Pipe Layer:

• Install underground piping (ductile iron, PVC, galvanized steel, black steel, concrete).
• Carry & maintain grade using pipe laser equipment.
• Read blueprints, complex diagrams and ensure grade elevation.
• Use trench shoring equipment safely.
• Possess trench safety certification (plus).

Skilled Laborer:

• Assist excavator operators in uncovering existing underground utilities.
• Measure & cut various pipe types, lifting & carrying up to 80 lbs.
• Follow safety rules and maintain a safety‑first attitude.

Pipe Layer (Minimum 2 Years Experience):

• Prior experience in underground pipe utilities.
• Proficient in potholing, trenching, and pipe handling.
• Strong supervisory and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Commitment to quality, safety and customer satisfaction.
• Willingness to travel, work nights & weekends, and be on call.
• High‑school or GED preferred.

Skilled Laborer (Entry‑Level):

• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Pass pre‑employment drug screen.
• Professional and courteous attitude.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, overtime and outdoors in extreme conditions.
• Able to lift 10‑25 lbs routinely and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Strict adherence to company safety requirements.
• Team‑player mindset.

Pipe Layer – $48,000 – $65,000 / yr (experience & overtime/bonus). Skilled Laborer – $42,000 – $55,000 / yr (experience & overtime/bonus).
