Camp Specialist – Music and Drama

This role at Camp Three Rivers is a very multi‑faceted, fast‑paced position. The Music and Drama Specialist must love and embrace not only the camp environment but also the camp philosophy, which is that our campers come first, we work as a team, and campers are here to have fun! The Music and Drama Specialist will develop and implement all activity plans in the area of Music and Theatre and assure that activities are skill and age appropriate for all camp groups.

Many of our campers attend camp for multiple weeks each summer; the Music and Drama Specialist should be prepared to create new and interesting activity plans for all 8 weeks without much repetition.

Pay range: $15.75 - $24.25 per hour; starting pay based on qualifications. This is an hourly, part‑time position, consisting of up to 37.5 hours per week.

Under the supervision of the Camp Director, the Camp Specialist will develop and prepare activities that are skill and age appropriate for all camp groups.

External and internal applicants, as well as position incumbents who are or become disabled as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, must be able to perform the essential job functions (as listed) either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined by management on a case‑by‑case basis.

• Actively work with campers grades K‑6 with and without disabilities, in an outdoor day camp setting.
• Develop lesson plans for all 8 weeks of camp. The Music and Drama Specialist will run 3‑6 program sessions a day and is expected to have lesson plans that are appropriate for each age group, each day.
• Create, analyze and implement music and drama‑specific activities that are engaging and make use of the entire 30‑45 minute time block allotted per group.
• Explore multiple forms of performative art over the course of the summer including singing, drumming, theatre, dance, improv, games, costume design etc. Most instruction will be at a beginner level and use basic supplies and equipment.
• Vary activities throughout the summer based on camper interest.
• Act as part of the Leadership Team at camp: enthusiastically participate in all camp activities, themed dress up days, field trips etc. Set a mature and responsible example for the camp staff.
• Inventory equipment prior to the start of summer camp.
• Oversee the Music and Drama equipment and maintain its storage over the course of the summer keeping the classroom space tidy at all times.
• Interact with and work as a team player with other staff, participants, and participants’ families/caregivers.
• Other tasks as requested by supervisor.
