Description:
The Guild School Teacher Manager will lead a team of teachers in developing their instructional capacities, curriculum (to include IEP related tasks), classroom management and teaching assistant supervision. In addition to providing high-quality instruction in their own classrooms, the Teacher Manager’s role is to build the capacity of teachers to deliver high-quality, effective instruction as well as supervise their teaching assistants.
The Teacher Manager provides support to their team of teachers by providing 1-on-1 observation and coaching, as well as in-vivo modeling. They will collaborate with associate directors to develop and implement the teacher mentor framework for new and waived teachers, and may also be expected to take on school-wide education projects like student council or other initiatives.
- Mentor and coach teachers in assigned teams through in vivo modeling, observation, and regular supervision.
- Support teachers in the development of student goals and associated IEP paperwork based on data and in line with the Guild’s Collaborative IEP / Treatment Plan practices.
- Integrate aspects of the teacher evaluation rubric and The Guild’s Integrated Framework into practice for assigned team.
- Provide the first line of support to teachers who are new to their profession or may need mentorship.
- Support and monitor assigned teacher team in the implementation of priority practices.
- Facilitate classroom consult meetings and/or participate in meetings as required for support of assigned teachers.
- Support education leadership in larger school-wide initiatives by providing leadership and ownership over their implementation.
- As needed facilitate team meetings for students in their caseloads.
- Work with TA reps (lead TAs) to develop a parallel process for TAs in the school.
