Inclusion Program Director

Concord Recreation is seeking an experienced, patient, and knowledgeable Program Director for our Camp Three Rivers Inclusion Program. In this key role, you will oversee all aspects of the program, including camper assessments, friendship facilitation, staff management, and the integration of inclusion strategies throughout the camp day. You will collaborate closely with the Camp Director, summer staff, and parents to ensure that every camper has a fun, successful, and inclusive experience.

Pay range: $20.00 - $40.00/hour starting pay based on qualifications. This is an hourly, part-time position, consisting of up to 37.5 hours per week.

Monday to Friday, 8:30AM-4:00PM

June 5 & 6, 2025 @5:30pm – 8:30pm, June 7, 2025 @8:30am – 4:00pm, June 18, 2025 @4:15pm – 5:15p, July 2, 2025 @4:15pm-5:15pm

Appointment of the final candidate will be contingent upon the results of pre-placement conditions including CORI and SORI checks. Costs of these pre-placement requirements will be borne by the Town.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Oversee and manage a caseload of up to 10 campers per week that attend the inclusion program with physical, developmental/intellectual, and/or emotional disabilities.
  • Successfully manage two inclusion aides who will provide hands‑on support to campers, daily.
  • Responsible for the coordination of camper meetings and written summer success plans prior to the start of camp including the collection and interpretation of assessment data.
  • Support the Assistant Recreation Director in assuring inclusion resources are prepared and organized prior to the start of the camp season.
  • Expected to participate in all aspects of the camp day including field trips, sports, swimming, arts and crafts, etc. as well as activities of daily living, as needed.
  • Actively support camp specialists to assure activity plans are appropriate and inclusive.
  • Maintain a safe environment for all campers and promote participant's success in camp groups.
  • Represent Concord Recreation professionally at all times especially when communicating with parents/caregivers.
  • Facilitate inclusion training for camp staff with support from the Assistant Recreation Director.
  • Effectively communicate with staff regarding campers needs, coping strategies, and adaptations in a positive and confidential manner.
  • Maintain behavior protocols when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience
  • Minimum of two years’ college coursework in the fields of Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, Counseling, Education, Psychology, or similar field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working directly with people with disabilities required.
Special Requirements
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • CPI or equivalent certification in de‑escalation and crisis prevention techniques preferred.
  • CPR and first aid certified (certification available during staff training).
  • Available to work part‑time starting in March to schedule camper meetings and write‑up success plans.
