Preschool Teacher Morning - Fall 2025

Concord Carousel Preschool has an opportunity for caring and energetic teachers to join our team of educators. Candidates must have a background or experience in early childhood education; a degree is preferred. Candidates are required to meet EEC teacher qualifications. The ideal candidate is flexible, willing to work as part of a team, and has the ability to help create and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum.

The successful candidate will have access to ongoing training and competitive compensation, and will have the opportunity to enroll their age‑appropriate children in our program with no tuition cost and special discounted rates for other programs.

Pay Range: $20.75 - $25.00/hour; starting pay based on qualifications. This is an hourly, part‑time position up to 30 hours per week.

Schedule: 10‑month school year following the Concord Public School calendar, from late August until mid‑June. Mornings only 8:30 AM–12:45 PM, with additional hours for planning, staff meetings, etc. Excludes school vacation weeks, professional days and holidays.

General Summary

Under the supervision of the Childcare Services Manager, teachers work with a Lead Teacher and share responsibility for the supervision and management of preschool students while helping to maintain a classroom/group in accordance with the goals and curriculum plans of the Concord Carousel Preschool.

Essential Job Functions
  • Contribute to an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for all students and staff.
  • Participate in planning and implementing curriculum, meeting the social‑emotional, physical and intellectual needs of the children based on the goals, philosophy and general curriculum plan.
  • Implement routines and create weekly written lesson plans, exhibiting knowledge of good child development principles.
  • Ensure the health and safety of children through constant supervision, arrangement of space, proper maintenance of equipment and knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Utilize positive guidance techniques in accordance with EEC guidelines and Carousel policy.
  • Contribute to written records of individual student progress.
  • Communicate with parents and other staff through daily contact, newsletters, and conferences (as requested/required).
  • Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings and professional development training, as required by EEC and the Childcare Manager.
  • Attend conferences and workshops to achieve personal growth and meet professional development requirements.
  • Show awareness of specific individual health plans and comply with plans, including required training (EPI pen administration, insulin pump operation, etc.).
  • Exhibit knowledge of and adherence to program policies and procedures, including emergencies, medication administration, suspected abuse/neglect and referrals.
  • Operate the classroom/site in compliance with EEC regulations and DOE Standards.
  • Comply with personnel policies of the Town of Concord, Concord Recreation and EEC/Childcare Programs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years of age and have at least a high school diploma.
  • Must have a suitable BRC.
  • Must meet EEC work experience and education requirements for Teacher Qualifications including 3 credits (or equivalent CEUs/PDPs) in Child Growth and Development.
