Phlebotomist

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, Assistant Phlebotomy Supervisor, and the Director of Laboratory Services, the assistant phlebotomist collects blood specimens for analysis and processes accession requisitions into the Laboratory Computer System.

• Education
  :
  High‑school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Phlebotomy Training Course completion and certificate preferred.

• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience; pediatric and adult experience strongly preferred.

• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

• Ability to work independently and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective phlebotomy skills.
• Ability to switch priorities and respond to changing departmental needs, including traveling to other locations for assignment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer skills.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
