Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief OT, the Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is an occupational therapist with at least five years of clinical experience, including 4,000 hours or more in direct hand therapy practice. The CHT has passed a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper quarter rehabilitation and demonstrates advanced understanding of hand/upper extremity anatomy, research principles, and treatment techniques.
Responsibilities include assessment, planning, treatment, and ongoing evaluation of care for a diverse hand/upper extremity patient population. The CHT provides patient and family education and support and works effectively on a multidisciplinary team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
5 years as a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).
Licensure and Certification- Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in Massachusetts.
- Certified Hand Therapist by Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC).
- Preferred Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- BLS healthcare provider required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
