POSITION SUMMARY

Provide technical, sales and marketing support for the Commercial Lines Team in processing all lines of commercial insurance in accordance with the objectives and procedures outlined by the Team/Branch Manager, with the goal of delivering the highest level of service to our clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Process new business, renewals, cancellations and endorsement requests on the computer system, with insurance carriers and in client files as requested.
  • Create, type and send necessary correspondence to insurance companies and clients to update, obtain or verify required information for account servicing.
  • Review binders, policies and endorsements for accuracy and relevance; enter data into the system and maintain paper files for each account.
  • Answer client questions about their insurance coverages and needs.
  • Answer insurance company underwriter questions about client accounts.
  • Assist producers in preparing proposals, providing policy summaries and account reviews.
  • Build rapport with client office counterparts.
  • Assist the accounting department in reconciling company accounts.
  • Provide prompt, accurate, courteous service to our clients.
  • Seek opportunities to generate new sales while in contact with clients and interface with the Personal Lines Team/Producer to develop personal lines sales.
  • Handle all tasks in compliance with the “Quality Control Manual for Commercial Lines Insurance” and corporate guidelines and procedures.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Pursue a program of personal and professional development.
  • Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by the Team/Branch Manager.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • A high school diploma, two years of college, or two years of experience in the insurance industry.
  • Proficiency with office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, copiers, fax machines, and typewriters.
  • Word‑processing and typing skills.
  • Strong respect for confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and analyze commercial lines coverages, forms and policies.
  • Holds the required and appropriate insurance agent’s license.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $80,000 to $90,000 per year. Base pay is dependent on skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on individual or company performance.
