Clinical Resource Nurse Ob

The Clinical Resource Nurse partners with the Director/Nurse Manager to ensure operational readiness of the department in the provision of direct nursing care for antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum, and special care nursery patients. This position has operational oversight responsibilities and participates with the nursing team in care planning and delivery, utilizing the nursing process to provide appropriate comprehensive care, in accordance with the stated philosophy and objectives of the Nursing Service Department and the OB Department.

The Clinical Resource Nurse facilitates communications between all Clough Birthing Center units in collaboration with the Director/ Nurse Manager and serves as mentor and role model for staff.

• Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher required.
• Experience
  • Minimum two years of experience in obstetrical and/or neonatal nursing with demonstrated leadership abilities required. Demonstrated proficiency/ competence in 2 of the 3 areas supported;
    Labor and Delivery, Postpartum/couplet care, Special Care Nursery. Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Licensure and/or Certification
  • Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
  • BLS healthcare provider required.
  • ACLS, NRP required.
  • Certification in specialty area strongly preferred or must be obtained within first year of hire.
