In this role, you'll keep our center running smoothly by providing essential administrative and clerical support that ensures patients receive timely, compassionate care.
Position Details:Mercy Hospital South Hyperbaric and Wound Center
Location: 12700 Southfork Rd., Ste 175
Schedule: Full Time | 40 Hours/Week | Monday to Friday
Qualifications- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required with coursework in clerical skills.
- Experience: A minimum of two years' experience in a medical office setting.
- Other: Typing proficiency required. Medical terminology required.
- Preferred Experience: Five years of experience in a medical office setting.
- Manage referrals and authorizations: Obtain prior authorizations, request and track referrals, and ensure accurate documentation in EPIC.
- Coordinate insurance processes: Verify benefits, handle medical necessity letters, and communicate out-of-pocket costs to case managers.
- Maintain patient records and scheduling: Update insurance and patient information, schedule new patient appointments, and send new patient packets.
- Process charges and billing tasks: Complete daily charges, maintain charge master, and resolve edits or corrections in work queues.
- Support clinical operations: Track referrals for clinic services, assist with direct admits, and log approvals/denials for specialized treatments.
- Provide administrative support: Order office supplies, answer incoming calls, and assist front desk with urgent tasks as needed.
