Starting Annual SalaryAcademy–Non-Certified Officers – $64,750.40 annually ($31.13 hr). Lateral-Certified Officers – $68,016.00 – $76,419.20 annually ($32.70 to $36.74 hr). Maximum annual salary: $ (reflects longevity, special services and Master Police Officer status).
Special DutyAssignments available to non-probationary employees with the exception of certain specialties. Academy or N-C Officers: subject to minimum qualifications below. Lateral or Certified Officers: must have completed two years of certified police experience; written exam waived.

Continuous review and selection process. All applications will be reviewed by the Concord Police Department. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be invited for a written exam, oral board and physical test.

- Minimum 60 credit hours in an associate or baccalaureate educational program.
- Two years full-time experience as a certified police officer at the time of appointment.
- Four years active full-time military service with honorable discharge (National Guard not counted).
Only individuals who meet the minimum qualifications and have submitted an application will be selected for testing and interview.
Job SummaryPolice officers protect life and property and secure the well-being of Concord citizens. Responsibilities include enforcing ordinances, state and federal statutes, and other regulations. Duties span patrol, investigations, drug enforcement and youth services under a community-based policing model. Officers may be designated Master Police Officer.
