Mechanical Planner

General Description:

Reporting to the Mechanical Manager, this role oversees mechanical inspection reporting, material management for all jobs, and scheduling of outsourced repairs.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and order all parts and supplies for individual jobs on an as needed basis
  • Communicate schedules and lead times for outsourced work to customer service and shop floor personnel
  • Coordinate and schedule outsourced work, ensuring technical and financial requirements are met
  • Maintain and order inventory for stock items in the mechanical shop
  • Collaborate with the Mechanical Services Manager to ensure inspection reports are accurate and complete
  • Responsible for all quoting of jobs to customers and sales engineers
  • Provide updates and reports to the Mechanical Manager regarding problems and issues
  • Complete outgoing mechanical inspection reports for plain/press roll and suction rolls
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management
Qualifications
  • Experience:

    5-8 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the paper industry
  • Must have proven supervisory and leadership abilities
  • Must be an excellent communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with mechanical and machine repairs is desired
  • Requires knowledge of computers with skills in Excel and Word
  • Proficiency in Solidworks to create detailed drawings is a plus
