Labor & Delivery Nurse Educator Job Details

  Nursing – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Hours:
  
  36 hours per week (guaranteed)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 | End: 12/20/2025)
• Schedule:
  
  Days only; no weekends, holidays, or on-call required
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2520 - $2590

Nurse Educator Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program in Massachusetts
• Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field required;
  Master's degree in nursing, education, or healthcare preferred
• Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience, including at least 3 years in maternity, obstetrics, or labor & delivery
• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
• BLS & NRP instructor certifications required

Labor & Delivery Nurse Educator Responsibilities

• Assess learning needs and collaborate with the Director of Obstetrical Nursing and L&D staff
• Plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities using adult and pediatric learning principles
• Develop and coordinate annual competency review plans for the Labor & Delivery department
• Measure learning effectiveness and guide ongoing staff development
• Promote collaborative relationships among healthcare professionals and clinical support staff
• Participate in professional development, hospital committees, and evidence-based policy development
• Coordinate patient, family, and community education initiatives as assigned
• Develop and tailor orientation programs for new nursing staff
• Serve as department coordinator for unit-specific courses and special projects
• Demonstrate clinical expertise in obstetrical nursing and act as a clinical resource for L&D nurses
• Participate in performance improvement activities and maintain department-specific policies and procedures
• Maintain active membership in professional nursing associations and pursue continuing education
