Travel RN - Mother Baby - Newborn Nursery

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Special Care Nursery position requiring NICU or Level 2 SCN experience and a NH or compact RN license.

• Active RN license (NH or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration, temporary licenses not accepted
• 3-4 years of nursing experience required
• At least 2 years of NICU or Level 2 Special Care Nursery experience required
• Comfortable assisting in deliveries and starting neonate IVs
• Cerner experience preferred but not required
• Postpartum experience preferred but not required

• Special Care Nursery integrated with an 18-bed LDRP labor and delivery unit
• Cares for neonates delivered at 32 weeks gestation and above, including grower feeders
• Unit typically staffed with 8-9 RNs per shift, 2 of whom are trained for the SCN
• 6 SCN beds with average census of 2-5 neonates
• Administers surfactant via LMA to appropriate candidates
• Attends vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections in the OR
• Night shift schedule, 7p-730a, 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Floating to postpartum or pediatrics possible if comfortable with those patient populations
• No on-call requirements
• All unit RNs are cross-trained in postpartum care in addition to SCN or L&D
• Weekly orientation provided
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
• Former staff may return as a traveler after a 12-month break in service
