Position OverviewNC Cooperative Extension in Cabarrus County is seeking an Extension EFNEP Program Assistant. The Extension EFNEP Program Assistant (PA) serves as an employee of NC Cooperative Extension and NC State University and delivers nutrition education to limited-resource adults, families, and school-aged youth who meet federal eligibility requirements for participation in the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program ( EFNEP ). Under the overall supervision of the County Extension Director ( CED ) and with programmatic guidance from the Regional Nutrition Extension Associate ( RNEA ), the EFNEP PA implements approved nutrition education curricula and teaching methods in individual and group settings.
The position recruits and enrolls eligible participants, with an emphasis on reaching Spanish-speaking families, and provides practical instruction in nutrition, food preparation, and related healthy living practices in both English and Spanish. The EFNEP PA also works collaboratively with Cooperative Extension personnel, community agencies, and partner organizations to expand program outreach, recruit volunteers, connect participants with additional resources, and enhance the visibility and impact of EFNEP within the assigned service area.
