Atrium Health Cabarrus is a regional 457-bed, not-for-profit hospital in Concord, NC. More than 4,200 hospital employees provide services through an extensive inpatient and outpatient network.

Job Summary

Performs radiographic examinations with minimal supervision under the direction of the Radiologist. Coordinates daily activities to include performing examinations and associated clerical duties.

Responsibilities
  • Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician.
  • Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
  • Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
  • Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
  • Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards.
Qualifications and Requirements

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Successful completion of a formal Radiology Technology Program in an AMA Approved facility required.
  • Registered by the ARRT required OR if a New Graduate, registry eligible and must be registered within 1 year of hire date.
  • 1 year of direct patient care work experience preferred.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.

Physical Requirements

Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers. Able to lift and maneuver equipment; good oral and written communication skills; may need to stretch, bend, twist, squat or kneel; able to use hands for manipulation of radiographic equipment; vision and hearing within required ranges. May be exposed to varied physical conditions and temperatures.
