Senior Renewable Energy Technician
Monitoring, Control and Compliance, Inc. (MCC) is a privately owned small business providing services to the solid waste industry. Founded in 2005, MCC now employs approximately 65 people and focuses on the operation and maintenance of landfill gas systems that reduce methane emissions and provide green energy.
DescriptionAs a Senior Renewable Energy Technician, you will supervise multiple sites and technicians, perform all functions related to landfill gas collection and control, train staff, manage communications with site management, and ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.

- Supervise multiple sites and technicians.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot landfill gas collection and control systems.
- Train other technicians on system operations.
- Liaise with site management and project teams to set priorities.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Identify and resolve issues, develop solutions, and present them to the project team.
- Track compliance, identify exceedances, and coordinate monitoring within regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct system inspections and coordinate with construction and operations personnel.
- Organize all safety components.
- Document all activities.
- Provide detailed reporting of project activities.
- Maintain a professional demeanor.
- Prepare monthly reports.
- 5+ years of landfill gas experience
- Supervisory experience
- Highly organized and able to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Strong problem‑solving skills with minimal management input
- Ability to instructionally guide less experienced individuals
- Patience in dealing with unknown circumstances
- Detail-oriented follow‑up with clients and supervisory personnel
- High performance standards and positive attitude
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience reviewing landfill gas data for compliance and adjustments
- Google Maps proficiency
- Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Current OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification
- Pipe fusion certificate
- Basic math, gas chemistry, and piping & instrument drawings knowledge
- Electrical, chemical, and mechanical experience
- Will willingness to be outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to walk long distances on varied terrain
- Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Ability to work year‑round in rugged terrain
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Use of personal protective equipment (safety boots, glasses, vest, gas monitoring equipment) required daily
- Travel overnight up to 30%
- Thinking on feet while pushing physical limits
